Present Spin: a Sunburnt Santa bonus game
A falling-block puzzle with a Christmas twist: pack the presents into Santa's sleigh in full rows before it leaves in 2 minutes. Every present is a spinning four-sided box, and a row that shows all one picture is a FULL HOUSE.

How to play Present Spin
- Pack the falling presents into full rows to clear them. 2 minutes, or until the sleigh is stacked to the top.
- Drag left or right to move, tap to turn, flick down to drop. Hold keeps one for later.
- Every present is a spinning four-sided box: food, Aussie animals, decorations, Santa & co. Flick up (or tap SPIN) to turn it to the next one.
- Clear a row that is all ONE picture for a FULL HOUSE: +1000 x level. Each present you spin uses a spin token; every row you clear earns one back.
- Keyboard: arrows move and turn, Space drops, Shift spins, C holds.
Scoring
| What | Points |
|---|---|
| 1 row cleared | 100 x level |
| 2 rows at once | 300 x level |
| 3 rows at once | 500 x level |
| 4 rows at once | 800 x level |
| FULL HOUSE (a cleared row all showing one picture) | +1,000 x level, per row |
| Clearing rows with presents in a row | +50 x level for each one in the run |
| Soft drop / hard drop | 1 / 2 per row fallen |
The level starts at 1 and goes up every 10 rows. The four pictures are Christmas food, Aussie animals, decorations and Santa & co. Spinning a present to a new picture uses a spin token: you start with 3, hold up to 5, and earn one back for every row you clear. The round ends after 2 minutes or when the sleigh is stacked to the top. Opens once 20 doors have a star.
Bonus game: opens once you have at least one star on 20 doors. It has its own top 100 for signed-in players.
Tips for a big score
- A FULL HOUSE is worth ten times a single row. Pick one picture early, spin presents to match it as they fall, and build towards rows that are all the same. Two FULL HOUSE rows cleared together on level 2 is 600 + 4,000 points.
- A present costs one spin token the first time you spin it (more turns of the same present are free), and tokens run out fast, so spin only the presents that actually finish or protect a FULL HOUSE row. Every row you clear earns a token back, so clearing steadily keeps the twist alive; you can hold up to 5.
- Clear something with every present you can. Back-to-back clears add a growing bonus, and every 10 rows the level goes up, multiplying everything that follows. Hard-drop (flick down) once a present is lined up: it's quicker and worth 2 points a row.
The real story: the 150,000-kilometre Christmas wrap
Santa's sleigh has a lot of wrapping to fit in. Envirohouse, a community sustainability centre, puts Australia's Christmas wrapping paper at more than 150,000 kilometres, and says the country's waste goes up by about 30 per cent at Christmas time [1].
And plenty of it is the single-use kind. A December 2024 report on polling by The Australia Institute found that more Australians buy single-use wrapping paper (69 per cent) than gift bags (52 per cent), which can be used again, and estimated Australia's unwanted Christmas gifts at about $1 billion [2].
Present Spin is a tidier way to deal with all those boxes: pack them so neatly that whole rows vanish. If you're packing the real thing this year, a gift bag, a tea towel or last year's saved paper does the job just as well, and the presents themselves are what everyone's waiting for.
When it opens
Present Spin opens once at least 20 doors have a star. How the calendar works.
