The advent calendar game

Sunburnt Santa is an advent calendar where every door is a game. Door 1 opens the day you start, a new door opens each day after that, and in December everyone is caught up to the date, so it doesn't matter when you begin.

Your calendar starts the day you do

Most advent calendars start on 1 December. This one starts when you first open the game: that day is your Day 1 and Door 1 opens. Door 2 opens the next day, Door 3 the day after, and so on (days change over at midnight Sydney time). You also need to have played a door before the next one opens, so nobody skips ahead.

December: everyone catches up

From 1 to 24 December the calendar follows the date for everyone. On 10 December, every door from 1 to 10 is open, whether you started in November or only installed it that morning. Start late and you can play your way through the doors you missed in one go. After Christmas Eve all 24 doors stay open.

Today's Door

From 1 to 24 December the big card at the top of the calendar is that day's door: Door 1 on 1 December, Door 24 on Christmas Eve. Today's Door has its own top 100 that only counts scores from that day, so every morning there's a fresh race on a new game.

Replays, stars and bonus games

Open doors can be replayed as often as you like; only your best score counts. Each game has three star targets. Stars don't lock anything, but every door with at least one star counts towards the bonus games:

Santa Smash: opens after 4 doors with a star.
Christmas Light Smash (two players, one phone): opens after 8 doors with a star.
Chimney Drop: opens after 12 doors with a star.
Snap! (two players, one phone): opens after 16 doors with a star.
Present Spin: opens after 20 doors with a star.
Santa Pinball: opens after 24 doors with a star.

Do I need to sign in?

No. Guests can play every door and every bonus game, and their scores stay on the phone. Sign in (13 and over) to save your scores, earn Christmas points and appear on the leaderboards. Leaderboard scores come from the iPhone and Android apps; the web game is for playing anywhere.
